Okla. cadet memorial to honor war dead

A group of former cadets of the Oklahoma Military Academy will dedicate the OMA Killed In Action Memorial on June 4, recognizing more than 100 former OMA cadets who died in service during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

The Oklahoma Military Academy operated between 1919 and 1971. During its 52-year history, the school’s Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps trained 10,000 cadets; more than 2,500 of whom served in World War II, Korean War, Vietnam.  For more, visit rsu.edu/oma.

    An outstanding school. Unfortunate it no longer exists. Now known as Rogers State University in Claremore, Oklahoma, the school is pursuing the reestablishment of a ROTC program.
