Reserve makes leukemia-stricken boy's wish come true

Ladd Anderson, a 10-year-old leukemia patient in Michigan, got his wish this week when a Reserve unit swore him in and got his help building a bridge for a local boat race. Anderson, whose brother is a soldier, earned the admiration of the reservists who worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to spend the day with him.

“That kid is a role model to everybody. I’m jealous of him,” said Sgt. Travis Bradbury. “Going through what he’s going through, still mustering up strength to come out here and want to serve, that’s incredible. Ten years old!”
