More than 15,000 soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division will be practicing for the big division pass and review Thursday at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, as part of All-American Week, and the folks from U.S. Army W.T.F.! Moments are trying to make sure they stay on their feet.

“We would like to provide hydration to these soldiers during one of their practice days, which falls on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the division review happening on Thursday,” they wrote on their GoFundMe site.

Donations will buy Gatorade – at $1 each – for as many paratroopers as possible.

“Each dollar that you donate rehydrates a soldier and puts him or her in good spirits for the rest of the day. Why not give back to those that do so much for us?”

It’s hard to argue with that.

The effort has raised $660 so far – the folks at U.S. Army W.T.F.! Moments would like to be able to buy about 2,500 bottles of Gatorade.

  1. Here’s hoping Army Times did due diligence and made sure this was a legitimate fund raiser, with the vast majority of money going towards what it says it is going to. I always get my back up about these sort of things because scammers so frequently use the uniform to raise money to line their own pockets. In one instance at Carson, less than 5% of the money raised was actually going towards the cause

  2. Don’t waste your money! We’ll never see those drinks. I’m not even allowed to drink out of the damn canteen on my hip; the phucking guest speaker may be upset if he see’s me move! Could you imagine having paratroopers drinking a Gatorade? The roaming 1SG’s would go ape sh!t, full throttle! If you wanna help, pray for a tornado or an Airborne invasion somewhere!!!

  3. Oh, fix bayonets we did. I’m pretty sure that no one got stabbed this year. Fortunately the skies were overcast on Thursday morning, at least for an hour or so. Wednesday, not so much. Never saw any charity Gatorade, but then again I just stayed in formation and prayed for an eclipse.
